Donegal News 3 Jun 1916 :

At a special Court in Letterkenny, John J Gallagher, Tullygay (who was defended by Mr W Kelly, solicitor), was remanded on the charge of assaulting Francis Bradley,

Doon Glebe. It was stated that plaintiff was engaged on his farm throwing stones on the ditch side when defendant came and caught him by the collar of the coat, accusing

him of throwing stones at his sheep. Defendant struck him twice with his head, knocked him down, and caught plaintiff's thumb in his mouth, Later he had the first joint of the

finger amputated.
