1836 Field Books, Parish of Taughboyne

1. These books were valuations of the land in every townland in preparation for the Griffiths Valuation. This list is taken from a Fair Copy of the valuations of three men.
2. They were supposed to include only houses valued at more than £5.00.00 but many of the properties listed are valued at less than that. Nevertheless, a comparison with the
Ordnance Survey Memoirs from the same period shows these are only a tiny fraction of people who lived in these townlands.
3. All valuations are for House and Offices other than those specified.
